TWO teenagers have been charged with illegal possession of blades in Renfrew.
Police were called to Muir Street at around 1.30pm on Monday after a member of the public reported seeing two men sitting in a common close, with a knife lying on the ground next to them.
Officers quickly traced the two suspects nearby and they were arrested following a short chase.
After searching the teenagers, police are said to have found one of them in possession of a kitchen knife and the other with a bayonet.
The two suspects, both aged 17, were taken into custody but later released on an undertaking.
They are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
