TWO men have been arrested after gardening equipment was taken from a van in Renfrew.
A police dog unit passing through Renfrew Road, near the Shell petrol station, at around 2.20am today spotted two men acting suspiciously.
Officers quickly traced the suspects, who were in possession of a strimmer and leaf blower.
Police said the equipment, worth an estimated total of £400, had been taken from a white Ford Transit that was forced open last night.
The 40-year-old owner of the van was later traced and confirmed that the gardening equipment had gone missing.
Enquiries are now ongoing to establish whether any other vehicles were broken into last night.
The two suspects, aged 22 and 31, were charged with theft and taken into custody.
They are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow.
