POLICE are appealing for information after three lorries were deliberately torched and vandalised at a storage yard in Renfrewshire.

At around 7.20pm last night, officers were called to a scaffolding company in Sandyford Road, Paisley, where three Hiab lorries had been targeted.

Two of the vehicles were deliberately set alight and the third was vandalised.

The cost of the damage is estimated to run into six figures.

Police said no-one was injured during the incident.

Detective Inspector Ian Ross, of Paisley CID, added: "Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area and are checking CCTV from the premises.

"Two young men wearing casual clothing, possibly tracksuits, are seen climbing over the fence and into the yard before exiting and running from Sandyford Road towards Paisley Road, Renfrew.

"The road has a couple of other business premises but leads on to Paisley Road, which can be busy at that time of the night.

"I would ask that anyone who has any information that will assist our enquiries, including dash-cam footage from the street between 7pm and 7.20pm, contacts Paisley CID via 101.
