A YOUNG teenager has been charged after reportedly racially abusing a shop worker in Renfrew.
It is claimed the 13-year-old suspect was causing a disturbance at the Tesco supermarket, in Broadloan, at around 8.20pm on Saturday.
After being asked to leave the store, the youth is said to have shouted racial abuse at a 30-year-old Polish employee.
When police later traced the boy nearby, he allegedly attempted to headbutt one of the officers before being taken into custody.
The suspect was taken by cops to his parent's home, where he was charged with racially aggravated breach of the peace and police assault.
Due to his young age, a report has been sent to the Children's Panel.
