A MAN has been arrested for an alleged assault on a woman in Renfrew.
It is claimed the 41-year-old suspect repeatedly struck the 36-year-old woman with a wooden pole in Inchinnan Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday, after an argument broke out between them over the sale of a vehicle.
After the alleged assault, officers attended the scene and the suspect was taken into custody.
The woman who was injured suffered bruising to her arm and back, but did not need hospital treatment.
The suspect was later released under special bail conditions and is due to appear in court at a later date.
