A YELLOW weather warning has been issued as heavy rain and high winds are expected to batter Renfrewshire tomorrow.

The Met Office is warning people to expect delays to transport with gusts of up to 60mph affecting the area from 2am until 6pm on Tuesday. 

Forecasters have also said persistent rain is expected from 6am tomorrow until 6pm on Wednesday.

A Met Office statement reads: "Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads.

"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services."
