A MAN has been charged after 16 people were reportedly found inside a Johnstone home, in breach of Covid regulations.

Police went to the property in Ryefield Avenue at around 12.20am on Saturday to investigate reports about a party taking place there.

A total of 11 tickets were issued to revellers and one man who has been issued with multiple fines was charged with culpable and reckless conduct.

Four others at the gathering were too young to receive a fine.

Police were also called to a house in Linwood in the early hours of Sunday morning after a group of six people flouted lockdown rules by gathering inside.

The group were fined and dispersed by officers after they were found drinking alcohol and listening to music at a property in Kintyre Avenue at around 1.15am.

These latest incidents follow multiple lockdown breaches detected by police across Renfrewshire last month.
