FIVE teenagers have been charged following a disturbance in Renfrew.

Police were called to Hairst Street at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 2, after receiving reports of youths acting in a disorderly manner.

It is claimed the teenagers had been picking up chunks of concrete and throwing them at shop shutters.

They also reportedly threw a road sign at traffic lights.

Officers promptly traced three youths from Renfrew, all aged 14, and another two from Glasgow, both aged 15, nearby.

They were taken to their homes, where they were each charged with breach of the peace.

A report will be sent to the Children's Panel.
