POLICE are hunting a thief who robbed a terrified woman walking down a Renfrewshire street.

The crook grabbed the bag of the 42-year-old woman in Sunnylaw Drive, in Paisley, at around 11am today before making off in the direction of Greenways Avenue.

The man is described as white, slim, 5ft 6ins tall and believed to be in his late teens. At the time, he was wearing a black hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms, dark baseball cap and muddy trainers.

A police spokesperson said: "The victim was very distressed by this incident and we are keen to trace the male responsible."

Officers are asking for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 0993 of March 8.
