POLICE have appealed for information after a thief stole a car in Erskine.
The red Ford Fiesta was securely parked in Sempill Avenue by the 21-year-old owner at around 1pm on Thursday.
At around 2am the following morning, a family member reported seeing the car being driven away after hearing its alarm going off.
The car was recovered in Greenock at around 8am on Friday and has been seized by police for forensic examination.
Inspector Allan O’Hare, head of community policing for Renfrewshire, said: “If anybody has witnessed the theft or can help us identify the suspect, please get in touch."
