STAFF at a Johnstone supermarket have been staging a clearing-up operation to help keep their community looking spick and span.
Workers from Morrisons managed to fill up 14 bin bags last Sunday at the banks of the Black Cart Water, behind the Napier Street store.
Julie Scott, the store’s community champion, made special ‘Morrison’s litter pickers’ high-vis jackets for the clean-up project.
She told The Gazette: “It went really well. We had a team of five out, so we really targeted the place and got it all cleaned up.
“I thought it would be good for us to do it as a group, as the area was getting messier and messier.
“I would like to thank all the volunteers out there doing litter picking.”
Julie was assisted by staff members Robbie Robertson, Gillian Queen, Martin Flemming and Andrew Speirs.
