A Covid rule breaker has been hit with his third fine for breaching lockdown guidelines after cops busted his “noisy party” at a property in Renfrew.
The man was issued with a £240 ticket for the illegal gathering which police discovered at 4.50am this morning.
Five guests who were also found in the house on Renfield Street also received fines.
Sergeant Jason Cooper, based at Johnstone police station, told the Gazette: “It is not the first ticket for the householder.
"It is his third offence under the Covid guidelines.
“The other five people in the house were also issued with fines and dispersed.”
This latest incident follows multiple lockdown breaches detected by police across Renfrewshire in the past month.
In February, officers issued more than 30 Covid tickets to revellers across the local area in one weekend alone, including those attending a large gathering in Lochwinnoch where eight people were found to be having a party inside a garage.
Following these incidents, Sgt Cooper warned people not to leave their homes unless it is for essential purposes.
“The ban on indoor gatherings applies to garden sheds and garages, as well as houses,” he added.
