A WOMAN has been charged with assault, breach of the peace and possession of an offensive weapon following an incident in Renfrew.

It is claimed the 31-year-old suspect was challenging members of the public to fight in Orchard Street at around 11.55pm on Wednesday.

She then allegedly struck a 39-year-old woman on the back and hand with a pole.
