DRIVERS in Renfrewshire are being warned to expect delays this month as maintenance work takes place on the M8 motorway.
The £300,000 project to improve the condition of the carriageway at Junction 26 (Hillington), between the eastbound and westbound slip roads, will lead to temporary closures.
Work will get underway on Friday and is scheduled for completion on Saturday, April 17, with disruption expected between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
A total closure of the eastbound carriageway will be in place overnight on April 9 and from April 13-17, with a diversion route via the off and on slip roads at Junction 26.
From April 10-13, overnight closure of the westbound carriageway will be imposed, with a diversion between the Junction 25a off slip and Junction 26 on slip.
A spokesperson for infrastructure support service provider Amey said: “All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.”
