POLICE are hunting a thug who attacked a man in a Renfrewshire home.

The victim suffered a serious facial injury when he was assaulted at a property in Dalskeith Road, in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley, at around 6.50pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds before being released.

Detective Constable Paul Fanning, of Renfrewshire CID, said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the Dalskeith Road area between 6.30pm and 7.30pm who may have seen a disturbance at the address or who has any information about the attack to come forward.

"This was a despicable attack on an innocent member of the public and we are determined to identify the person responsible.

"We would also urge drivers who may have been in area at the time of the attack to check dashcam footage to see if they captured anything that might be useful to our investigation. Similarly, if you have private CCTV in the area, please get in touch."
