The owners of a bar-restaurant in Bridge of Weir have been given some much-needed cheer after it was shortlisted for two prestigious honours.

Buzzworks Holdings, which runs The Coach House, is a finalist in the Wellbeing in Hospitality and Employee Engagement and Support categories at the 2020 CIS Excellence Awards.

It is a welcome boost for the business, which has been closed for much of the last year due to lockdown restrictions.

Kenny Blair, managing director of Buzzworks Holdings, told The Gazette: “It has been a challenging year for both the hospitality industry and businesses in general.

“However, as a people business, we have gone to great lengths to not only ensure our team all still felt connected to Buzzworks during lockdown but also to provide support to those keen to make a difference within the local communities where we operate.

“Being shortlisted for two prestigious CIS Excellence Awards recognises the hard work and dedication that has gone on over the past year to provide a positive working environment for our team, even when our venues have been closed.

“At a time when there is not a great amount to celebrate for the hospitality business, I wish everyone the best of luck for the CIS Excellence Awards.”

Due to ongoing restrictions, organisers have been unable to commit to a traditional awards event but have a plan of action in place to announce the winners and celebrate the best of hospitality once the current period of lockdown is lifted.

The award winners are due to be announced after lockdown restrictions are lifted.
