POLICE are hunting a thug who assaulted a taxi driver in Renfrew.
The 46-year-old victim was attacked after dropping off a passenger in Wilson Street at around 9.45pm on Saturday, April 17.
Police said the driver of a white Ford Fiesta, who had been closely following the taxi, got out of his car and began shouting abuse.
When the cabbie got out of his vehicle, his face mask was ripped off by the yob, who then punched him in the chest before driving off.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
The suspect, believed to be in his mid-to-late 30s, is described as white and around 5ft 7ins tall. He had a shaved head.
Police said the victim did not need hospital treatment.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 4535 of April 17.
