High Street in Johnstone
A MAN has been charged with illegal possession of a bladed weapon in Johnstone.
Police on patrol stopped and searched the 38-year-old suspect in the town's High Street at around 8.15pm on Thursday after he was reportedly seen acting erratically.
A 'cleaver-style' weapon was allegedly recovered from the man’s clothing and he was taken into custody.
The suspect was later released on an undertaking and is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
