THREE people have been arrested in connection with a disturbance in Linwood.
Police said a 59-year-old woman suffered verbal abuse from a younger woman near shops in Vernon Drive at around 1.55pm yesterday.
It is claimed the older woman's sons, aged 36 and 40, then came to her aid before reportedly being attacked by two men armed with weapons.
Police wouldn't confirm the type of weapons involved in the alleged incident but said both of the injured men were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment to head injuries.
This morning, officers arrested two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, and a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of serious assault and breach of the peace.
Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 101.
