Station Rise in Lochwinnoch
AN investigation is underway after a would-be thief tried to break into a house in Lochwinnoch.
Residents in Station Rise heard the sound of breaking glass in the street at around 1am on Friday.
An unknown man was then spotted attempting to enter through the rear windows of a house before running off.
Officers with police dogs searched the area but there was no trace of the crook.
Police said hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who has information is asked to call officers on 101.
