PUPILS at an Elderslie school had a super time as they dressed as their favourite comic characters.
Wallace Primary hosted the themed event last month to celebrate a fantastic fortnight of active travelling to school for the Scotland Walk of Fame challenge, organised by the Living Streets charity.
Spider-Man, Supergirl and Black Panther were just some of the heroes who made a special appearance, with teachers also joining in the fun.
There was even a visit from Captain Covid, alias Joe McMenemy, who was on hand to help make sure the event could be staged safely during a pandemic.
And pupil Orla Craig paid tribute to NHS superheroes by dressing up as a doctor.
Schools across Scotland have been recording their active journeys for a chance to star on the Walk of Fame daily leaderboard, where the Elderslie school has regularly appeared at the top.
Marel Harper, principal teacher at Wallace Primary, said staff have encouraged pupils to walk to school as often as possible during May.
She added: “We’re trying to promote active journeys to school, mainly walking. Not all of the children can walk all the way, so we asked them to ‘park and stride’ instead.
“Renfrewshire schools have done well in the challenge and Wallace Primary has been at the top of the leaderboard.
“It has also been Walk To School Week, with each day revolving around a different superhero that Living Streets has created.
“Friday’s theme was Super Sustainable as, by leaving the car at home, you can reduce the amount of traffic and pollution around schools.
“To further promote active journeys, we thought it would be great for our pupils to dress up as superheroes.”
