AN investigation is underway after vandals destroyed a fence at a popular community farm in Erskine.

The incident at Lamont Farm, in Barrhill Road, is believed to have taken place between 3.30pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.

Yvonne Elliot, manager at Lamont Farm, told The Gazette that around 14 fence poles had been either snapped or pulled out of the ground.

She added: “There has been a lot of trouble in Erskine with youths over the past few weeks.

“We’ve had to move our sheep at the weekends because people are jumping in and out of their field and trying to terrorise them.”

Police have confirmed the incident is being treated as vandalism and their enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call officers on 101.
