POLICE have vowed to crack down on unruly youths gathering in Renfrew and engaging in anti-social behaviour.
A number of youngsters have recently been spotted whizzing around the Kirklandneuk area of town on off-road bikes, prompting concerns that a serious accident could take place.
Sergeant Jason Cooper, based at Johnstone police station, said youths had also been seen gathering in large numbers in woods near Fulbar Street and causing disorder.
He added: "We've received reports of youths damaging property as they leave the area, such as kicking wing mirrors off cars and verbally abusing residents.
"We will be giving this area extra attention, with more patrols to target these youths.
"Anyone who witnesses or has concerns about anti-social behaviour should contact police by calling 101 as promptly as possible."
