A TEENAGER has been charged with police assault and resisting arrest in Renfrew.
The 18-year-old suspect was reported to officers by members of the public following a disturbance in Fulbar Street at around 12.15am on Sunday.
When police arrived at the scene, it is claimed the man approached one of the officers and headbutted him in the face.
The suspect was eventually restrained by police and taken into custody.
It is understood the officer involved suffered a facial injury but did not need hospital treatment.
Police said the suspect is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
