A RENFREWSHIRE road has been closed due to a gas leak as emergency repairs are carried out.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the A737 has been shut in both directions between Howwood and Lochwinnoch and will remain closed for some time.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area which is understood to be gridlocked, with diversions currently in place.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Gas Network said: "We're carrying out emergency repairs to our gas main in the A737 between Howwood and Lochwinnoch.
"For everyone's safety, the A737 is temporarily closed both ways between its junctions with the A760 and the B787. The emergency services are helping to redirect motorists.
"We know this is a busy route, so our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete our repairs."
