A CHILD was taken to hospital on Thursday after being injured in a road accident in Renfrewshire.
Police said the 11-year-old girl suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries when she was hit by a car in Glenburn Road, Paisley, at around 2.40pm.
She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, in Glasgow, for treatment.
The road was temporarily closed yesterday afternoon as police carried out enquiries and later reopened at around 5.30pm.
A police spokesperson said: "We received a report of a crash between a car and a child on Glenburn Road, Paisley, around 2.40pm on Thursday, July 22.
"An 11-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
"The road was temporarily closed whilst officers carried out enquiries and reopened around 5.30pm."
