A HOWWOOD hospice is bringing one of its most popular fundraising events back to Renfrewshire this summer.
CarFest will see vehicles of all types, from Minis to classic American muscle cars, gathered together in Paisley town centre on Saturday, August 14, to raise vital funds for St Vincent’s Hospice.

The automobiles will be on show in Gilmour Street and the town’s High Street from 10.30am until 4pm.

As well as treats for motor enthusiasts, there will be plenty of entertainment for the family to enjoy, such as stalls, games and music.

The event, organised by Bill’s Automotive Detailing and sponsored by business improvement organisation Paisley First, will see all funds raised going towards the hospice, which provides care for people battling life-limiting conditions.

A spokesperson for CarFest said: “This year’s event will have a reduced number of vehicles due to Covid restrictions and we ask everyone involved to follow government guidance at all times during the event.”

Like many other charities, St Vincent’s Hospice relies on support from the public to fund its vital services.

However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on the hospice’s ability to stage fundraising events, which makes the return of CarFest a timely boost.
