Renfrewshire residents are being encouraged to explore their creative side by taking part in a series of workshops.

The EVOLVE project, based in Seedhill, Paisley, is an 18-month arts and culture project which aims to unlock community potential, celebrate local identity and renew pride in the area.

It is led by RIG Arts and delivered in partnership with Williamsburgh Housing Association and Renfrewshire Leisure as part of a Scottish-wide project called the Culture Collective, funded by Creative Scotland.

A new online workshop starts on August 2, with local textiles artist Sharron McGrady teaching people how to design their own fabric and then make a lampshade with it.

This will run on Mondays, from 1pm until 3pm, for four weeks. To sign up, visit EVOLVE Seedhill.

And, starting on August 3, poet Katharine Macfarlane will run an online memory mapping workshop, gathering local memories of Seedhill and helping people make their own DIY map of the area.

This will take place on Tuesdays, also from 1pm until 3pm, for six weeks, with more details available HERE.

There are also two outdoor art workshops taking place at McKerrell Street Playpark every Friday, from 1pm until 3pm and from 4pm until 6pm, with people welcome to go along between these times.
