POLICE are appealing for information after a man was attacked outside a Johnstone takeaway.

The 30-year-old victim suffered facial injuries during the assault, which took place next to Kashmir's Grill, in William Street, at around 11pm on Saturday.

It is believed that one or two men pulled him out of the takeaway before the attack.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where he received three stitches.

Police are treating the incident as a serious assault and are investigating whether any weapons were used.

Witnesses and anyone else who has information are asked to call officers on 101.
