PAISLEY town centre was brought to a standstill yesterday after heavy rain caused widespread flooding.
St Mirren Brae, Causeyside Street and Forbes Place were submerged in almost knee height water as motorists struggled through huge puddles.
Meanwhile, workers were seen pushing water out of the Paisley Centre as it became flooded.
Fire crews also closed off Canal Street after a car became stuck.
Buses were diverted via George Street and New Street to avoid the swathes of water.
There was also localised flooding on Ferguslie Main Road and George Street with local residents and workers fearing they had been left stranded.
