MOTORISTS have been told to expect disruption next week as work is carried out on the Erskine Bridge.

This will mean overnight closures of carriageways and slip roads on the A898.

Northbound restrictions will be in place on Monday and Tuesday, with southbound closures in effect on Wednesday and Thursday.

All work is taking place between 9pm and 6am, with a signed diversion in operation.

Traffic will be diverted via Spectacles Roundabout to join the A726 and will follow Southbar Road to Barnsford Road to reach St. James Interchange.

From here, traffic will travel on the A725, Greenock Road through St. James Street, Niddry Street, Renfrew Street, the A761 Glasgow Road/Paisley Road West to King George V Bridge, and along to Broomielaw and Piccadily Street.

This will lead to North Street, where traffic will be able to re-join the A82.

The work being carried out next week will improve the condition of the carriageway and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

Additional cyclic works will also take place including gully and signage cleaning and sweeping.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
