AN investigation has been launched after building materials were deliberately set alight outside a house in Erskine.
The incident in Holms Crescent was reported to emergency services after the householder and workmen discovered the fire at around 5pm on Monday.
A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was able to put out the flames before anyone was injured.
Police said renovation work had been taking place at the property and the building materials had been placed in the front garden to be uplifted.
The incident is being treated as wilful fireraising and enquiries are ongoing.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call officers on 101.
