POLICE have launched an investigation after a break-in at a house in Renfrew.

It is believed the incident in Cairn Avenue took place at between 9.40am and noon on Saturday.

Officers wouldn't confirm what items were stolen or their value but said the property was unoccupied at the time.

Sergeant Jo Henderson, of the community policing team, added: "If anybody has seen anyone in the area acting suspiciously between these times, please contact us."

Witnesses and anyone else who has information are asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 1780 of August 28.
