A RACIST lout attacked a security guard with an ice lolly.
Ross Platt, from Johnstone, sparked chaos at the Sainsbury’s store in Glasgow’s Argyle Street just a day after he had been freed from jail.
The 45 year-old appeared to be under the influence during the incident on August 12, last year.
Prosecutor Kyle Dalziel told Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday: “Platt appeared at the store and was told to leave by the security guard.
“He replied: “Who the f**k are you? You have already assaulted me.’
“The guard told him he had never seen him before and once again asked him to leave.
“He did briefly before returning and being abusive towards him.
“He threw a magnum ice lolly at the guard’s chest.”
After Platt was restrained, Platt sank his teeth into the man’s arm.
Police arrived to arrested him and he stated: “He’s a black b****d anyway.”
Platt pleaded guilty to assaulting the security which was racially aggravated as well as behaving in an abusive manner.
His lawyer Calum Weir stated: “He’s in custody so often and this offence was committed a day after he was released.
“He has drug and alcohol issues and I hope there is an alternative to custody to help him deal with those.”
Platt was shown mercy and sentenced to a community payback order with supervision for nine months and a restriction of liberty order for 100 days.
Sheriff Andrew Mackie told him: “I’ve been convinced with hesitation to try and deal with this as a non-custodial matter.”
