A MAN has been arrested after a Renfrew woman spotted a stranger attempting to enter her home.
Police said a resident in Campbell Street noticed an unknown man trying to open the rear door of her property at around 7.40pm on Wednesday.
It is claimed that after finding the door to be locked, he walked away from the house.
Officers later traced the suspect nearby and he was taken into custody after a short chase.
Police confirmed a 31-year-old man has been charged with being in the curtilage of a property without a reasonable excuse.
The suspect is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
