Pumpkin fields, costumes in shop windows and bags upon bags of sweets mean only one thing: Halloween is on the horizon in Oxfordshire.

With the spooky season nearly upon us, a local photographer has snapped a series of photographs which showcase Oxfordshire’s boo-tiful wildlife.

The photographs were snapped by amateur wildlife photographer Simon Booker, who is from South Stoke.

The fang-tastic images include black cats, crows, ravens, owls, a rather large spider and spider web.

Mr Brooker's photographs enable the fine leg hairs of the spider, the feathers of the birds and dew settled on the cobweb to be seen in extremely clear detail.

He recalled how he became involved in photographer four years ago when he started taking iPhone pictures and posting them to Facebook. He added his father was also involved in photography and Mr Booker did ‘a bit’ at college.

He said: “People liked them and my daughter suggested we go 50/50 on a ‘proper camera’.

“Once I got an SLR in my hand the passion rekindled but purchasing a long lens has been a revolution and inspiration.”

More of Mr Booker's photographs can be viewed and purchased on his website Stokerpix.
