New Street in Kilbarchan
A MAN has been charged with assault after a disturbance in Kilbarchan.
It is claimed the 39-year-old man slapped a 37-year-old woman on the head in the village's New Street at around 5.35pm on Friday following a heated argument.
Police, who said the woman was not injured, soon traced the man nearby and he was taken into custody.
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
