TWO thugs who brutally attacked a Just Eat worker as he delivered a McDonald's meal have been jailed for a total of 27 months.

Reece Allan and Robert Dunn, both from Erskine, pounced on Wafi Sharis at Kingsway Court, in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow, on November 3 last year.

Prosecutor John Bedford told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "Mr Sharis was making a delivery to the flat and was approached by Allan.

"Mr Sharis told him he was doing a delivery and Allan went away. Dunn then appeared and attempted to grab the bag from him and, as a result, pulled Mr Sharis backward.

"He refused to hand over the bag and was struck to the head and body."

The court heard that Allan returned to the scene and hit Mr Sharis on the head.

Mr Sharis, who still managed to deliver the food, went to hospital but did not need any treatment.

Allan, 22, and 21-year-old Dunn were later identified by police who viewed CCTV footage.

They were both arrested and admitted assaulting Mr Sharis.

The court heard that Dunn was already subject to a Community Payback Order at the time of the offence.

He was handed a 20-month prison sentence, while Allan was ordered to spend another 227 days behind bars after he completes a 332-day term imposed earlier for a separate matter.
