POLICE have appealed for information after hundreds of pounds worth of valuables were stolen from two flats in a Renfrewshire street.

The thefts took place in Douglas Street, Paisley, sometime between Saturday, November 20, and Monday, November 22.

Both flats were unoccupied at the time and among the items taken were a television, fridge-freezer, clothing and cash.

Police are now reminding residents to ensure valuables are not on display near windows, to help prevent their homes being targeted by thieves.

Enquiries into the thefts are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101.
