AN investigation is underway after a would-be thief targeted a house in Renfrew.
Police said a 23-year-old man had locked the front door when he left his Renfield Street property on Friday, December 10.
When he returned on Friday, December 17, he found that the lock had been damaged but nothing appears to have been taken.
Police said their enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101.
