RENFREWSHIRE residents are being warned about several weekends of disruption at local railway stations.
Due to engineering work, buses will replace all train services between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning for the next three weekends - and a further four Sundays after that.
This will affect the Glasgow to Ayr service, which normally has trains travelling through Johnstone, Milliken Park, Howwood and Lochwinnoch.
Trains from Glasgow to Largs and Ardrossan, which stop in Johnstone, will also be disrupted by the works.
Rail services will run as normal south of Kilwinning, and will also run as normal between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow, but a replacement bus service will operate between Kilwinning and Paisley, calling at all scheduled stations in between.
A direct bus will also operate between Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour to connect with Arran ferry sailings.
Weekday train services will not be affected.
The disruption will affect travellers on the following dates:
- Saturday, January 8 and Sunday, January 9
- Saturday, January 15 and Sunday, January 16
- Saturday, January 22 and Sunday, January 23
- Sundays January 30, February 6, February 13 and February 20
