A TEENAGE footballer from Erskine who has played in youth teams for both Celtic and Rangers and was due to face court action over an alleged motoring offence has been told the case has now been dropped.
Ciaran Dickson, 19, allegedly failed to stop at a red light in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.
It had been claimed the incident took place on December 28, 2019, when he was aged 17.
Mr Dickson was said to have been behind the wheel of a vehicle with a private registration at the time.
The central midfielder was due to appear at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace Court today to face the single charge but prosecutors did not go ahead with the case.
A spokesperson for the Crown stated: “The Procurator Fiscal received a report concerning a male aged 17, said to have occurred on December 28, 2019.
“After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence, the Procurator Fiscal decided that there should be no further proceedings.”
Mr Dickson last played for Celtic's B-team in September last year, scoring in a Challenge Cup match against Greenock Morton.
