RENFREWSHIRE Council is to host an online event to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
The virtual ceremony has been organised jointly with East Renfrewshire Council and takes place at 7pm on Wednesday, January 26.
It is an opportunity for people to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, as well as millions of others killed under Nazi persecution and in genocides that followed in the likes of Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
The ceremony will feature a survivor’s story, highlighting the horror of the Holocaust, and there will be music from pupils at Renfrewshire schools.
Anyone can join in via the council's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
Councillor Eddie Devine, leader of the Labour group in Renfrewshire, said: “Holocaust Memorial Day encourages remembrance in a world scarred by genocide.
“We in the Renfrewshire Labour Group ask that you take the time to remember.”
