TWO men have been arrested in connection with housebreakings in Renfrewshire.

At around 4am on Wednesday, police were alerted to a break-in at a property in Linwood, where a number of items were stolen.

It is claimed that, around two hours later, the same crooks forced entry to an unoccupied house in the Arkleston area of Renfrew and pinched various belongings.

After reviewing CCTV footage as part of an investigation, officers traced two suspects and recovered a substantial haul of stolen goods.

Police said computer equipment and cash were among the items recovered.

The suspects, aged 40 and 46, were taken into custody and charged with two counts of theft by housebreaking.

They are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
