AN inmate originally from Renfrewshire who absconded from prison has been traced by police.
Officers issued an appeal for information on Saturday after John Paul Lynch, 45, was reported missing from HMP Castle Huntly, in Dundee, on Thursday, March 3.
He is originally from Paisley and it was thought he may have returned to the town.
A police spokesperson said: "John Paul Lynch, 45, who had absconded from HMP Castle Huntly, Dundee, on Thursday, March 3, 2022, has been traced and returned to prison.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
