A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being injured in a road accident in Johnstone.
Police said the 52-year-old pedestrian was struck by a grey Toyota Aygo while crossing the town's High Street at around 9.30pm on Sunday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the woman was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment.
Police have said her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and the road was temporarily closed as officers carried out enquiries.
A 44-year-old woman has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged driving offences in connection with the incident.
