TWO teenagers have been arrested for alleged serious assault following a disturbance in Johnstone.
Officers on patrol in Thorn Brae at around 7.50pm on Saturday reportedly spotted a 25-year-old man being attacked with a blunt weapon by the suspects.
It is claimed the two teenagers then attempted to flee the scene but were both caught by police after a short chase.
The suspects, aged 15 and 16, were arrested and the injured man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where he received treatment for a cut to his face.
Police said the two teenagers were later released and a report has been sent to the Prosecutor Fiscal.
