A MAN has been charged with an alleged drugs offence after being stopped by police in Renfrew.
Plain clothes officers from the Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit pulled over the driver of a car in King's Inch Road at around 11am on Wednesday.
It is alleged that, when police searched the suspect and his vehicle, they found two kilograms of herbal cannabis.
The drugs are believed to have an estimated street value of around £28,000.
Police said the 26-year-old suspect was unable to produce insurance documentation for his car and the vehicle was seized.
He was taken into custody and charged with the alleged supply of drugs.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
