POLICE are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured during an incident in Johnstone.

The 65-year-old man was found within the close of a property in High Street at around 10.30pm on Sunday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, with life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, of Paisley CID, said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into the incident and how this man came to be injured.

"I would urge anyone who may have assisted the man or witnessed what happened to come forward.

"Anyone with information should call police via 101, quoting incident 3711 of April 3, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
