POPULAR restaurant Linwood Farm will temporarily close on Sunday ahead of a major refurbishment designed to bring a brand new family experience to locals.

The multi-million-pound investment will see a total overhaul of the Hillhead Drive site and a significant team expansion before reopening on June 20 under the new name Farmhouse Inns Linwood.

The refurbishment will see the introduction of all new family features and offerings in the pub, such as an outstanding new dessert parlour, including an ice cream station with an interactive toppings factory, a fresh doughnut machine and new milkshake offer.

There will also be new interactive children’s play areas, both indoor and outdoor, which will cater for those aged from three to 11.

Kendal Simmonette, general manager at Farmhouse Inns Linwood, said: "I've been with the business for seven years now, launching and relaunching several pubs in my time. I can honestly say what's happening here in Linwood is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on.

"The most important thing about Linwood Farm has always been its incredible carvery offering – this won't change with the investment. A good carvery has, and will always be at the heart of our business, and I can't wait to welcome both regulars and new customers to Farmhouse Inns Linwood in June."

When the site closes this Sunday, the existing carvery team will be redistributed to other Farmhouse Inns sites across the region.

Ahead of the reopening, Kendal is running a series of recruitment days, aiming to hire 30 new staff to bring the new and improved site to life.

Vacancies include an assistant manager role, team leader roles, cleaners and front of house staff, including waiting and bar staff. Also available are a number of kitchen roles including a chef, head chef and bakers/cake-a-tiers.

The recruitment days will be held from 10am to 8pm on the May 12, May 19 and May 26 at Gabriels in Gauze Street, Paisley.
